I kind of wish they'd take a little more time between movies, but of course I'm super jazzed. I just hope it's unrelated to anything in the Skywalker saga.  No more finding out that like Yoda lived on the same block as Mon Mothma when they were kids or any of that shit. Just do new stuff.

Also, we'll all be long dead before even one Avatar sequel comes out.

Disney announces dates for three new 'Star Wars' films and four 'Avatar' sequels

Am I the only one who finds three Avatar sequels getting greenlit bizarre? Who is clamoring for this? I get the first one was a mega-hit but that was -- what? -- a decade ago? I've heard exactly no one talk about Avatar in like 8 years. Who wants this? This feels like when Look Who's Talking made $250 million and they quickly decided they needed to make two more and the third one was such a dog they shot it to death in its kennel.

Is there some Avatar fan fiction community that is millions strong I am missing?

Someone (can't recall who) brought up the fact that Avatar is the top grossing movie of all time and left zero cultural influence. I agree...who even mentions this movie?  I know I saw it, but most of what I recall of it came from some references in a 30 Rock episode.  I do know that Disney built a section in their parks for it, but now that they're even further delayed, it just makes it that much funnier.

Also, its FOUR sequels.

True.  Solo would have performed so much better had it followed the Christmas release pattern rather than the March release it was given.  Now stretch that out to every 2 years.

False.  Unfortunately.

I am solidly anti-revising the movies...but this was really good.

If Disney had made a new hope in 2019...vader/kenobi battle scene

FTFY

The technology used to make that scene didn't exist in 1978.  That's why George made 4,5,6 and then 1,2,3.

Ok...since Julie will probably complain that this is not 'prestige' TV  this seems like the appropriate place for this

I'm really looking forward to the season 3 (final season) of Legion

this show is criminally underrated and one of my favorites

Disney announces dates for three new 'Star Wars' films

They have secured David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for the next trilogy.

For the uninitiated, they are the screen writing duo showrunners for Game of Thrones.
