Ok... this thread is going to make my head explode.

14th St is not Shaw... And Logan Circle hasn't been scary since circa 04'ish. Maybe even before that, I guess it just depends on your definition of scary. I enjoy tranny hookers walking the streets at 2am.

to me , and I lived there for 10 years, Logan ends at Logan Circle which is 13th... past that on Rhode Island, for example, is Shaw..

Shaw goes at least til 7th if not more... and unless its changed a lot its still pretty crime ridden

Oh the Ironing!

Ha ha. I like the new use of the word.

Pressing a point when there is a wrinkle in the conversation.

Only thing I found backwards was saying Shaw was upcoming after Columbia Heights...kinda backwards...

Other than that, they pretty much got it all!

How do you figure that?

Shaw was gentrified and hip back in 2003 or so, while Columbia Heights became all the rage about 2 years ago...

Shaw, hip in 03'?? Maybe if you were willing to wear a bullet proof vest like Walkie.

Yeah, I wasn't here in 2003, but I know that when I bought my place on the Logan Circle side of Shaw in 2009, the area was not gentrified and some parts were not walkable.  It is making strides and has improved 200% in the last few years so I think the video is right on...  Down by 9th and Pish where they are rebuilding the Giant and turning multi-city block project housing into condos and commerical establishments will really change the area.

It was edgy but still walkable back in 2001. I saw the entire 11th St area get cleaned up within a year and high-rise condos go up down at 11th and M St.
