I speculated to my friend that perhaps Segall had an agreement w the club to allow crowdsurfing

I think this is true, as he has been doing this at all his shows so far

Replacements, Hold Steady and Deer Tick show was great. Any other 930boarders attend?

The bands were great and everything was just easy about the night:

Quick subway from Manhattan, great weather, friendly staph, etc.

Hopefully Seth will be able to bring this revival show to the DC area next year.

I actually went to a show last night!

Lydia Loveless at DC9.

I looked for Hutch among the sea of men, but didn't see him.

How was the show?

Very nice show. Obviously longer than when she opened for Old 97's at 9:30. She's fun to watch, as is her husband (the standup bass guy with the long locks in her band).

Less shows is a natural progression that comes with marriage, kids, and age, methinks. Ratbastard's dad being the obvious exception.

Slowdive was great....missed low and meeting any of the boardies though

I was hoping to pick up some of those new 930 earplugs...but they were sold out...and am I feeling it this morning.

Sounded really good all over the room.  It was a little hard maneuvering
It was very sold out
I didn't see any slamdancing, but there were a few guys up front grooving pretty hard.  But most had their big hipster glasses on and stared at their sneeks

After seeing Mogwai earlier this year...I can see the 1 to 1 coloration vividly

Picked up a kewl pedal shirt ...goes 1 louder

Slowdive

In 2014 Slowdive reformed for a round the world tour. They asked me to pitch for T-Shirt ideas and this is the one they chose, it was also used on mugs. Such a privilege & honour to get to do this one.

If you are not familiar with Slowdive, you should know that they are famous for their use of guitar pedals, creating majestic atmospheric & very loud soundscapes, influencing everyone from Sigur Ros to Mogwai along the way. Therefore I came up with the Slowdive pedal, it does everything you can imagine, has 6 inputs and dual stereo optical outputs. Obviously it goes 1 louder just in case anyone gets too serious about it...

Show of the year for me, perfect bill. I hoped Low would play a bit longer, but I'm glad they played three new songs, and that I could see them at 9:30 Club with a good sound. Slowdive was so great, I like the sound so much, with the only slight issue being a few weaker songs and uneven vocals.

There were a few rough patches of feedback as far as sound goes but other than that, it was perfect for me. Vocals were clearer on some songs more so than others but (I could be wrong here) I think that might have been done on purpose.

Yes, this is how their soundguy mixes the vocals. Neil's vocals were even louder last time I saw them.

The Wilco shows from the Ryman have looked pretty darn good, nice to see them switching things up a bit.

Maybe next time!  I did meet Betao and had a good time chilling with him (and azaghal).

I really wanted that shirt, but only had $15 bucks left of spending money for the night...

(also Low were fantastic! You missed out!)

Slowdive were so good Really enjoyed that a lot more than I thought I would. Opening with "Slowdive" was perfect. The vocals may have been too low at a couple of points, but I think you can get away with it when it comes to shoegaze. And I imagine that this kind of show can be tricky to get the sound correct on, so major props to the sound techs last night.

Nice to meet (technically for a 2nd time!) Rogue and finally meet Azaghal, hope we can all get together for another show sooner than later.
