To agree with everyone else, Slowdive and Low were a fantastic double bill and a definite show of the year candidate. A thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Scroll down to the second to last paragraph (Blowtel gig).

I heard about this incident minutes after it happened but felt like it wasn't my place to talk/post about it. But now it's public knowledge. As far as I know, bouncer in question still has his job and wasn't even reprimanded.

The Danny Elfman Music For The Films of Tim Burton concert at the Kennedy Center tonight was really special, especially the first half of the program.

Saturday night is the final performance. If you enjoy film scores, this is a really unique opportunity to see this impressive career-spanning Elfman/Burton collection performed live.

No, just a Who's Who of the Baltimore music scene was there.

Minus of course members of future Islands and celebration since they are on tour in Europe

That was just the first name that came to mind when I read that phrase.

Foo Fighters report? Loved the Sonic Highways episode. Still just can't like the music though! All the new songs sound like Queens rip offs. But, I love what they're doing! So torn!

I heard that that Sonic Highways focused way too much on that virtually unknown band here that Dave Grohl recorded drum tracks for or something and that they were portrayed as the next big DC thing.

I think the Sonic Highways is really well done, really liked the Chicago episode, the DC episode got a bit tedious over the fact that someone decided to press up a bunch a singles on selling them on their own

The Damned were a blast last night. Was floored how well Dave and the Captain looked and sounded. I put off seeing these guys over and over again. Dumb move on my part.

Had seen TSOL headline at the Ottobar a couple years ago and they haven't lost a step either.

The thing about the DC episode of Sonic Highways, is I understand Dischord / Positive Force appears to be big part of Dave's teenage years... but, it sure seems like there are only three things of note from DC are, Bad Brains, Go Go Music and Dischord.  Basically, there was a bit too much of the usual suspect being interviewed in the hour...
