I've only seen Lightning Bolt once, when they came to RVA around 2 years ago, and the "pit scene" came nowhere close to living up to the stories I'd heard. That could just be a Richmond thing though. Good show, though.

I've heard less than stellar things about the dear jerry show.  Unless you were really high or tripping balls.   Wait, a minute.

I've been to 3 greatest hits shows this week (The Replacements, Prince, Dear Jerry) and I felt it blew them all away. FWIW I'm a jam band fan (but only saw them with Jerry once) and was on the lawn with a group of friends.

Despite the worst traffic I've seen getting to Merriweather, the ‪#‎dearjerry‬ show tonight was amazing. The core 4 showed up so much, it was practically a greatest hits show with special guests. And a nice passing of the torch to the next generation. The finale of "Touch Of Grey" and "Ripple" was a perfect way to finish the evening.

you,re right . . . sorry.  I,m just upset I didn,t get to go, and I am trying to overcompensate by, hoping, it was awful.  my friends mainly bitched about the traffic, the crowds, the breaks between songs, the curfew, some bands didn,t get to play.  did Hornsby, show?

I had no issue with it five years ago like that tweet said. And that DC9 pit then was also violent. As I told Killsaly, that was easily the sweatiest I'd ever been at a show.
Chalking Wednesday up to age/out-of-shape-ness.
