U2 @ The Sphere:

- the band did their thing.  either you like them or you don't, and most folks here don't, so i won't carry on about how much i enjoyed the shows (especially the acoustic set from War on friday)

- the venue, tho... wow.  just wow.  sound is absolutely pristine.  hands-down the best sounding venue i've ever been to.  the visuals were overwhelming at times.  pix and vids cannot do justice to that experience.  definitely worth checking out if ever in vegas (they play custom-made movies in it as well on non-concert nights, if you don't wanna catch whatever band is playing there at the time).

she's an incredible performer and somewhat underrated in the US.  Had wanted to go to that show, but just wasn't in the cards

Anyone attend the Tweedy book thing last night?  Even though we decided that it wouldn't work for us logistically on a work night, my wife is devestated that he played one of her faves-Hummingbird.  And it's all my fault.... :)

Ha!

Always is... just as long as I'm allowed out for a walk now and again, I'm fine in the doghouse

Marnie Stern killer as always.  Glad she's back, and hope she headlines sometime next year.  Not sure anyone but me and one other dude were there to see her, but she seemed to win the crowd over.  It was really cute...she kept smiling at a section of the crowd, and I assumed it was someone way into it.  Turns out her kids were sitting between the barrier and the stage.

I don't think I had seen Blonde Redhead in close to 20 years...really liked them back in the day but for whatever reason they drifted off my radar.  They were fantastic...really good mix of old stuff I knew and new stuff I didn't, and it all sounded great.  Really glad they had MS open...i probably wouldn't have gone otherwise

Despite hating the Wharf, hating parking at the Wharf, and generally disliking Anthem, really glad I dropped the cash for the Liz Phair show.  I hadn't seen her since the 98 Lilith Fair (I took my mommy).  She sounded great, and the band did a really killer job with translating the Guyville live, I thought.
