Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Capitol One Music Hall, 12/9
Two sets with an intermission so old people could pee and buy $16 spicy margaritas.
Venue was hot as fuck. What are they thinking.
Hall was nice, if a bit sterile, and I'll say it again, hot as fuck. Reminded me of the Kennedy Center on the inside, if the Kennedy Center was run by a bank.
Yes, you could park at Wegmans, at a separate parking garage. 3-4 hours was $8. Cheaper than the $15 venue parking, which was a half block closer.
No, I didn't try to trade in for a $0 ticket. Ironically, my wife was mentioning housewives who do this...buy a coat for their kid, see it go on sale, and then try to exchange for the sales price.
What's with men my age wearing earrings. Silly. What are they thinking.
David is a master guitarist but his singing sucks when he sings lead.
Gillian is a decent banjoist and her voice was in fine form.
Unless they do one of those playing her debut album in full with a full band shows, I don't think I need to see them again.
