yes..computer started making sputtering noise and smoke started coming out so i had to suspend..


guess picture was too overpowering or something


in any case looks like i need a new cheapo laptop or netbook... i'm talking CHEAP..new baby arriving in 3-4 weeks and money is tight... any suggestions welcome!  don't do much other than internet while i take care of hutchie jr.

My go to is the $399 option at Best Buy, usually a Dell/HP... Run the hell out of it for a few years and buy a new one.

or go used, although it might involve having some familiarity with computer maintenance (re: no tech support).  if you're just surfing, e-mailing and listening to mp3s you don't need a powerful machine.  anything made in the last 3 years will do you fine.

thats what i usually do...

i don't get what hapened.. the laptop still works... its flashed the "problem with cooling system" message a few times since i purchased it two years ago but not this time.. maybe it overheated and something went awry... maybe if i used it for too long same thing will happen

I know this is Walkie's thread and you and him are mortal enemies, but congrats as well. We've got our second on the way in about 6-8 weeks.  But i'm not worried about money, cuz I'm a BALLER.
