If they're not free in VA, the cost is virtually nil. I have never had vanity plates amywhere else I've lived but if they're giving them away...

In Michigan it was like $150/year extra or something ridiculous.

I was at that Murder City Devils show (for the opener - the as yet unheralded BRMC).  As I recall it, the issue was that a guy got kicked out for throwing a bottle onto the stage.  The Devils stopped playing and asked that the guy be allowed back in because he was a friend/longtime fan of the band.  Staph declined to let the dude back in.  Band declared that they wouldn't start playing again unless the guy was readmitted.  Staph held their ground.  Band and concertgoers went home early.  It was all a little amusing and surreal.

That show led to an epic forum thread... Started with how the club stole the hearts of those attending...  And the band apparently didn't get paid because they didn't play their contracted set length

It was an opening day entry in the User-Curated Hall of Fame. Absolutely epic.

ive had vanity plates with tons of interesting words i believe for the entire time i have driven a vehicle.  i prefer stick shift over automatic for you feel more connected to the machinery with your hand stoking the shaft to the engine.  ive always known Virginia has had the most and it has been that way for the last twenty five years.  ive tried to figure the reason why that is then rather accepted it as a fact that people from Virginia are different.
