come on now..who wouldn't want to play for the Yankees before retiring..over continuing with the O's?

the Yankees are the Yankees.. if you love baseball and you know even a little bit about the game you gotta be interested in being a Yankee

although building that new stadium was the most stupid thing i have ever heard of.. talk about pissing away tradition.

I am sure Roberts would have preferred being an Oriole.  He didn't have a choice as the Orioles didn't want him.

You know for a fact that they didn't want him?  For $2M plus incentives?  I'm reading that the O's were never given a chance to counter.

It was locked - just like Mr. Angelos' cash box.

Danny Valencia for David Lough.  Looks like we have another candidate for left field.

Lough to replace McLouth?

It's not like the Yankees are expected to contend this year, though.  Can't blame him since he wasn't coming back......but I asked my wife to throw out her Roberts t-shirt anyway.

Depends on how they finish their off season acquisitions.  As things stand, I wouldn't expect them to be even as good as they were last year.

You mean we won't do as well as when we had Arrieta and Freddy Garcia as our starters?  I find that hard to believe.

Two Balfour tidbits, courtesy of CSNBayArea.com:

*He met his wife when he went in for surgery on a torn rotator cuff in 2005. Angie Balfour worked as an assistant to the orthopedic surgeon who performed the operation.

*When they were teammates with the Brewers? Triple-A Nashville club, Balfour saved R.A. Dickey from drowning in the Missouri River. Dickey, now with the Blue Jays, was trying to win bets that he could swim across the river at Council Bluffs, Iowa, and got caught in the current. Unable to swim back to shore, Dickey did manage to get close enough that Balfour could reach out and pull him from the water.

The guy is crazy.  I love watching him.  I've seen him get in so many near fights on the mound by his antics that he has reached the "I'm going to watch this guy no matter what because you never know what's going to happen" stage, and it usually has nothing to do with the game.

Balfour dealing "serious jeopardy" due to injury discovered in physical.

Knowing Angeles and his history,  it's probably his accent.

Plan B - Rodney.  Although they won't pay him $10M per season, will they?
