I think the issue is it's not going to fix itself, so what is Wieters going to do?  He might not need surgery now, but most expect he'll need it sometime.  So does he do it now and be 100% in his free agent year?  Or does he wait until the off season (or worse, until after he's in free agency) and sacrifice half of his last season.

Let me know when the appropriate time is to remind you who his agent is and why this is a discussion....

I have no idea if rajai got that steal but that 9th inning was pure, unadulterated awesomeness. So glad I picked these two to go to. Eat em up in the morning, Verlander!

Last night was horrible.  What a great start wasted.  I did not boo Hunter, but I wanted to.  I almost threw my angry bird hat at him!

Also, if they weren't in the shift, Machado would have caught that ball...

Davis and Wieters are pretty dumb for not negotiating extensions.  Davis was at his peak value and catchers generally don't age well.  If I were them I would dump Boras asap unless they want to end up like Morales and Drew.  On the outside looking in.

No such thing as a perfect closer.  Score more runs so your pitching isn't taxed so much.

I realize that, but there is such a thing as a closer actually closing.  Hunter has yet to have a 1-2-3 9th inning.  He is not a closer.  He's great when he's on, but how many times has he loaded the bases?  Time to close by committee.

Balfour pitched a perfect ninth last night for Tampa.

He's had one disastrous outing in Chicago that is distorting his numbers, but he's pitched well and is well liked in Tampa.  He's been much better than Johnson, who is LOATHED here in Oakland.

But were they really throwing at him?  Bud Norris has hit a shit ton of batters this year.

I have to admit I didn't see it.  Was in the kitchen making gumbo.

Oh, they're probably just missing Jemima Weeks.
