Travis Snyder to the O's.  Now that's a GM who's paying attention....

Connolly:

My first thought: Snider is every bit as good as the free-agent outfielders who the Orioles have discussed in the past month, and he?s under club control for two seasons, if the Orioles want him that long. So it?s like signing a guy for $2.1 million in 2015 with an option (his final year of arbitration) in 2016. In those terms, it seems worth it.

He had a great season for Pittsburgh last year, but was pushed out of a crowded (and talented) outfield.  Injuries have plagued him, but a lot of that was blamed on the turf in Toronto.

Lefties do well in Baltimore and he will play hard (fans like K8 will love his effort).  If he stays healthy, he'll come close to Markakis #'s for MUCH less money and probably be better than Rasmus for a quarter of the price.

Still a long way from replacing Cruz's contribution though.

I don't even think Cruz this year can replace Cruz's contribution from last year.  Lightning in a bottle.

Yes. At the convention center. You need a ticket for the convention center part, but the clubhouse/locker room/dugout will be open for tours and you don't need a ticket for that part.

I'm a dork and like to stand where Buck stands and dream of a World Series Win...

I'm trail running for 4 hours in the am, but have my O's gear packed for the tour.

Honestly, since 2013, it's been a crazy unbearable madhouse in the convention center. I've only gone the last few years for the state of the orioles presser for season ticket holders, and then whoever was at the MASN booth first to meet.

My how winning changes things.

Fanfest was crazy crowded. I didn't even try for the convention center (as I had to rescue my parents from Carlisle, PA and was on the road from 5:30 - 1pm - separate story).

But, I did do the stadium tour and got some cool pictures.

And sent out good vibes for a winning season!

Raymond (Baltimore)

Its a shame that this is even a real question: Which would you rather have as your 2015 RF, Markakis, Colby Rasmus or Travis Snider? SMH

David Schoenfield  (1:51 PM)

You know ... they're all kind of the same.
-----

Au contraire, Mr. Schoefield.

Markakis - 2015 - $11m, 16 - $11m, 17 - $11m, 18 - $11m
Rasmus - 2015 - $8m, 16 - FA
Snider -  2015 - $2.1m, 2016 - Arb (~$4m) - 2017 FA

Snider is also the youngest of the three.

As an aside, I hope everybody saved their Reimold t-shirts.

Signed Jayson Nix.  Close to signing Everth Cabrera.  Stockpiling utility infielders.

Going for depth given the questions at 2B and the health question of Manny makes sense, but Nix is a career .221 hitter and was well south of the Mendoza line last season after stints with 3 teams last season.  He's nothing to get excited about.

Cabrera is a much better player - just take his keys away.

And his drugs - recreational and otherwise.  Would be the leadoff man they lack though.
