Yoenis Cespedes debating between a 5-year, $90m deal with Baltimore, or a one year deal with the Mets.

He probably wants an out, which he won't get.

Davis gets 7 years $161M with full no-trade and no opt-out.  It'll be interesting to see how he is received this year.

Looks like DH duty for Trumbo.

Way to hold your line and tell Boras who's boss.

Eh, what's an extra $1.5M per year?

According to Buster Olney, the Orioles have deferred a total of $42 million dollars of the contract. What that actually means is that the O's will pay Davis $17 million per year for the seven contracted years. Each year, $6 million is deferred. So instead of the $161 million over seven years, the fact is that over the next seven years the O's will be paying Davis $119 million.

The money will come due eventually, with Davis structured to receive a $3.5 million payment each year from 2023-32, with an additional $1.4 million coming each year from 2033-37. That is an interest-free deferral, which is actually a pretty big victory for the Orioles.

Efron Navarro

All currently on the Angels 40 man roster and one is expected to play in Left Field each night.  This after the Angels posted the worst production in left filed in like 30 years...

Orioles acquire one of the underwhelming options for Left Field in Anaheim for cash considerations.  I'm hoping it was for international cash availability...

Classic AAAA player.  Too good for Triple AAA, could never perform in the majors to earn a job that was available to him often - good line drive hitter though.

And as Roch says - You can spell "San Diego Padres" using the letters in his name and still have a few left over.

But it did buy you 7 more years of Chris Davis.

My plan went up about 60 bucks. Even with the price increase, my tickets are still at least 10 dollars cheaper than every other stadium I've been to in the US.
