I'm putting money on The Tribe right now!

This is getting a little scary....
I feel totally confident after today that if the Indians and Tigers were to meet in the playoffs for an 21-game series, the Tigers would not get swept.

Over the last 365 days, who has been the best pitcher in the AL (according to WAR)? The answer may surprise you.

Wow.  I would have said Chris Sale.  Quintana being second is even more surprising.

Yeah, I did not see that coming. (Nor do I believe it has been the case.)

Manfred on relief pitchers:

"You know the problem with relief pitchers is that they're so good. I've got nothing against relief pitchers but they do two things to the game; the pitching changes themselves slow the game down and our relief pitchers have become so dominate at the back end that they actually rob action out of the end of the game, the last few innings of the game. So relief pitchers is a topic that is under active consideration. We're talking about that a lot internally."

Just quit if this is how you think.

Chapman to Yankees for RHPs Caleb Cotham and Rookie Davis and INFs Eric Jagielo and Tony Renda.  Rookie Davis?

Caleb Cotham, Rookie Davis, Eric Jagielo and Tony Renda for Top Prospect Gleyber Torres, Major Leaguer Adam Warren, minor leaguer Billy McKinney and a play TBA.  Plus $4.67m for 2.5 months of a closer.

I don't say this often, but that's a helluva take for the Yankees brass.  Textbook buy low, sell high.  If the Cubs win in October, good deal for them too.  The Reds look amazingly bad.
