they literally wrote "This is due to personal commitments"... not sure what duplicity you're seeing here?  should they explicitly describe the commitments?? 

maybe it's just me, but saying "it's for personal reasons" is enough.  I don't need (nor want) them to get all oppositional and add "NONE OF YOUR GAWDAMN BEESWAX SO LEAVE US THE FUCK ALONE!!!".

Maybe their good friends announced a wedding last minute... maybe the lead singer has substance abuse problems and is going to reptile rehab with challenged.

Their kids are having an emotional breakdown.
Their best friend just survived a suicide attempt.
Their basement flooded and they have to take care of it.
Their sound guy was just diagnosed with cancer.

I just reread cock's post and find it odd both bands are canceling just these 9 dates of their joint tour
then just pick it up again in November with a south american tour
