Threads is also in this space. Bluesky isn’t attached to a mega Corp and seems to put more of an emphasis on keeping hate speech off it. Does not require a bunch of technical know how a la Mastodon.

Twitter is just dwindling away at this point, just endless lousy promoted tweets.  And not enough people I follow have jumped to threads and now the brands and influencers are  gone it’s just all journalists I never followed on Twitter

Bluesky is just a head scratcher at this point
