I think there's a lot of survivor bias (for lack of a better term around this). "Well, I haven't died yet and I lived through polio, so I'll be fine now." "Well, I haven't died yet, so those libs who don't think I'm invincible are dumb!"

I was thinking the first sentence as I was typing my post. He thinks he'll be fine. That said, why give up your source of income...unless you were planning on retiring anyway.

My mom, who is 80, just for an excellent bill of health from her doctor. She has none of the comorbidity conditions except old age. She says she's not going to get it and even if she does, she'll be fine. She's someone who has gone through a ton of shit in her life, I feel like maybe this is her foolish way of saying fuck you to it all.

Unless it's a personal choice, if I'm still working at age 74, I'd want injected with whatever pandemic is around then and taken out gracefully.

My 74 year old uncle, who I haven't spoken to in 14 years, quit his job that he was was going to lose due to vaccine mandate non-compliance. Hopefully he lives like a hermit and doesn't bring greater risk to others.

Edit: He survived polio as a child, Vietnam as a teen, and Chrone's Disease for most of his adult life. Why the fug is he so afraid of a shot?

Forgot...he's also a (skin) cancer survivor as well.

that "comorbidity" has been used in the news probably 1000s of times in the last 18 months
Probably would come up over 100 times on this board alone

I've rarely watched the news since the election. And I definitely don't follow this board.

While the second is arguably something to brag about, the first isn't.

Did you take science classes in high school?

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I  retained nothing from my high school science classes.

Not much from biology in college, either. Yet I work in the science industry.

To be honest, other than Space, does anyone really remember anything they learned in high school?

i have a mind for remembering useless stuff (i'm pretty good at trivia), so i've retained a decent amount of my high school science, math, etc.

I thought Space still is in high school.

GOODBYE, KANYE: It's now just Ye.

Rapper formerly known as Kanye West is now just Ye

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kanye is now Ye. A Los Angeles judge on Monday approved the request of the rapper, producer and fashion designer to legally change his name to just Ye, spelled Y-E, with no middle or last name.
