Matt Cameron

bummer
It feels like there was probably fifteen years where this would’ve been the end of the band but since they clearly do not care about being any good, at this point, and exist merely to print money from dudes who think “liking beer” constitutes “a personality and hobbies,” they’ll just truck along with a replacement and continue to put out dreck.

Who will the replacement be? Ringo's son, or the guy the Food Fighters sacked?

I looked at the numbers: since 2015 PJ has played about 155 gigs total! so about 15 per year average. Hardly grueling. For years Bob Dylan’s drummers were averaging 130 gigs PER YEAR!

could it just be that Matt wanted to peruse his own musical projects full time?  he just this year released  a EP literally called "New Beginning"  with an Seattle based singer Shania Shepherd known for her powerful soulful voice, also a member of Nudedragons (a band comprised of Shepherd, Cameron, and the other surviving members of Soundgarden, Kim Thayil and Ben Shepherd)

Matt seems like the kind of no-nonsense guy who would rather pursue musical projects than peruse them.

Though if his slacker band is only playing 15 shows a year, I could be wrong.

matt could be both perusing and pursing musical projects... and hutch's math is a bit off due to a little thing called the pandemic

also according to setlist the most gigs dylan did in a year was 120.. and yes compared to bob pearl jam are a bunch of slackers..

Or Matt is 60+ years old, worth over 50 million dollars, and doesn't feel like doing shit for the rest of his life?

We have no idea why he left PJ. Just saying it wasn’t a huge obligation. They just don’t do that much anymore. An album every five years with short tours. He’s not Mike Watt or something doing 70 shows in 70 night roughing it. He had plenty of time to concentrate on other projects.

Worth $50 million? Not likely. And sure he could just be retiring…retiring from not all that much though…

who konws the accuracy of these things, but this actually says his net worth is even more!

Even if his net worth is 10 million or 5... that's enough to get you through the rest of your life... an d probably another generation of Camerons as well.

Definitely true that Matt Cameron doesn’t have to work if he doesn’t want to….

On another board people were speculating he might have left PJ to join Foo Fighters
