Nick Cave AND the Bad Seeds get great reviews cause they put out great music

I mean Nick can’t help it he has put out one clunker in 40 plus years!

GBV - Sweating the Plague out 10/25.

Now this is a band that is still going strong

I think they are the best “classic” rock show in business

The long-awaited debut of Jack Gray (aka Tenacious D's Jack Black and Jack White) arrives in November.

Enough to make a man vomit!

Already has a 50 on Metacritic.

Confession: I've never read metacritic in my life
Is there something to read? I thought it was just a score?

I've never read a score!

The new Wilco album is scoring an 82. That's 5 below their career high of 87 from Yankee Hotel, and 10 above their career low of 72 from Sky Blue Sky. There, now you've read one.

Terrible rating system and practically #fakenews if YHF is only five points higher than their latest steamer they released.

Would not read again.

So you don't trust statistical analysis? Fwiw, I know people who love the new album. It's all just opinion anyway.

Wilco hasn't had a good album since Summerteeth.

Is Nick Cave one of those artists who critics swoon over no matter what they put out?
yep
Pitchfork 8.8
Forty years into his career, Nick Cave emerges with one of his most powerful albums yet, an endlessly giving and complex meditation on mortality and our collective grief.

I wouldn't go that far back, but I would say it went downhill at an alarming speed after "A Ghost is Born."

Sky Blue Sky was the beginning of the end.

I quite liked Sky Blue Sky and Whole Love. As much as the earlier stuff.

I'll meet you in the middle and say YHF is utterly listenable. A Ghost is Born is straight trash tho.

I can't say I have listened to him extensively enough to discredit his entire oeuvre but I've never liked anything I've heard by him. And yet so many people whose musical opinions I respect seem to adore him. I've always chalked him up as an artist I just "don't get".
