yeah i get it that venues and musicians don't want to cancel stuff - but i thought it was pretty irresponsible for death fest to send out an update saying they were still on.  All large events need to be cancelled probably for at least the next 6 months.  it's really going to hurt artists and venues big time.
welp they are kinda living up to their name...death fest

I think this thread needs to be merged with the 'Just Cancelled' one

local headline: Seattle Public Schools to close for at least two weeks in light of coronavirus concerns

my kiddos are in a different school district, but it's coming to us eventually.  yeay.

just got notification that my school district will be closing as well, per the instructions of the governor.  yeay indeed.

Gov’t Told Seattle Lab To Stop Coronavirus Testing, Despite Finding New Cases

at what point does this willful neglect become impeachable? <hides>

Tom Hanks and his wife test positive

Tom Hanks had a cold, or so he thought. In the U.S., those symptoms may not be enough to get tested for the coronavirus. But in Australia, testing is free and widely available, thanks to early and coordinated planning for a pandemic. https://nyti.ms/2TX3Lsc

I've heard tons of accounts of people saying "I think I may have the virus" going to the doctor and unless they came from Italy or Wuhan...they were unable to get tested
that's a crisis, people are doing what they should and the govement is ill prepared to deal with what it knew about 7 weeks ago

A white knight on my FB is all up in arms about the articles referring to "Tom Hanks and his wife" and not "Hollywood Power Couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson". I'm like, dude, if Rita Wilson walked into a bar, 95% of people would have no clue who she is. Do you say "artistic wunderkinds Meryl Streep and Don Gummer"?
