There were no new cases reported in China yesterday.  So, that's a good thing!

Yes, it is.

Caveat is that there were no new community spread cases. There were 34 new cases in China, all brought from outside the country.

also, i don't know if i'm ready to believe the chinese government on this.  their initial reaction was as botched as ours, and i'm sure Xi is ready to put this behind him - so who knows, maybe it's a case of "less than 100/day?  let's call that zero, close enough, mission accomplished!"

Agreed. While you've got to question most, if not all, countries' reporting of cases and fatalities, I'd really really really question the Chinese government.

The more cases they had and the more fatalities they had the more impressive the fact they seem to have regained control of the situation....

the chinese gov't has not allowed the WHO in, and has kicked out many foreign journalists (not just americans...).  and now that impartial witnesses are gone, everything is suddenly all good?  hmmm...

I don’t get the fascination with the Dow

I mean it will eventually go right back up....lots of people making a killing right now

I would expect it below 15,000 easy

Well it isn't the whole market, just 30 big US stocks and a pretty big indicator of the market as a whole
it lost a 1/3 of it's value in less than 8 days...that's a pretty big deal, like 1929 big
Market and economies are different now, but still somewhat insane

Have you considered a side hustle where you write papers for college students for money?

Actually you would wait til stocks cratered..take out equity from your home..buy stock..and then wait til it goes up...make a killing

You just have to have the stomach for it which you obviously don’t

Stocks in March 2009 hit 6500!!

Of course the stock market is a big deal...am just saying one would expect it to go way down...then recover...eventually...

the increase under Trump always seemed kind of out of all reason given the president puts everyone at risk...but Wall Street doesn’t exactly go up or down based on common sense

I've considered it, but the plan falls apart when I realize that the students would flunk out and blame me because the grammar, spelling and even tense was so bad they got recommended for a remedial English class and an F on the paper
So if there is a demand for those kinds of papers...send em my way
