As a labradoodle owner, I think this was a wonderful choice. It also sounds like an Onion story.

Special Report: Former Labradoodle breeder was tapped to lead U.S. pandemic task force

The OC is going to be so screwed.....

A California city filled its skate park with sand to deter skateboarders. Then the dirt bikes showed up.
Dirtbikes have that mad max vibe...they need to work on their outfits

I've always been bad at spotting sarcasm...

Trump: It was said sarcastically.

So I will accept full blame for spreading this false narrative

Forget the bleach, let's talk about your companies debt to china, or how about those cases that are showing up at the SCOTUS in a few weeks?

I've felt this since early on.  We have no idea what the real rate of infection/mortality is.  Crap data in->crap results/analysis

Mostly because we still don't have a test that produces highly consistent results.  Add to that the asymptomatic...
As well as we have no way to verify the reliability of some of these numbers

I don’t believe the numbers - taken with other numbers- are useless

They help indicate trends, etc

They do correlate with deaths

Look at New York and come back and tell me the number of cases means nothing

But they don’t mean everything

Yeah this is the correct take. The numbers aren't gospel but they're not meaningless at all.

I didn't say they were useless, but I do feel they are not accurate.
and accuracy is important

Even how they are classifying deaths is not consistent, I just think everyone is an armchair expert based on the numbers that keep coming out
I think the numbers are flawed, so reliable analysis, well isn't reliable

Are they indicators, are they helping...yes for sure
but everyone is stating things as concrete facts on how many have tested positive and we know that there is a high false-positive rate (so that number could be WAAAY higher)
So how can we then say all the deaths are a direct result of corona, when the tests are not accurate

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if I knew that testing was providing much less false positives
And even if one came out this week...that doesn't correct all the data we have

More comfortable about what?

It really doesn’t matter if the number is accurate

How could it be accurate unless everyone got tested everyday?

We know we have millions of infected people and probably about 80,000

Americans who have died from covid related stuff so far and where it not for mitigation this number would be in the hundreds of thousands to millions

What else you need to know?

I guess I am not following you

In any case since Republicans want to ignore the issue not sure what accurate numbers would do for us...
