Trump suggested today that Americans wash their hands with boiling water. When asked to comment, Dr. Birx said, “the President was just spitballing.”

Alison Mosshart (IG)

"Another deadly storm ripped through Nashville today, seemingly out of nowhere on a sunny Sunday afternoon. 80 mile an hour winds and trees down, injuries, power lines mangled. 113k homes without juice in darkness here. Been living in quiet candle light for the last 10 hours or so contemplating the layers upon layers of coping going on in this country/world, how disaster, illness and inconvenience can pile up in mere minutes, all at once and just like that. The fortitude required or the madness almost- to deal - is humbling. As I stumble around the house to the tune of my vast unpreparedness, charging my phone in my car, engine running on a pitch black street and not a star in the sky, i am, just here. A blackout in a lockdown is an interesting twist. A psycho-comedy. We’re standing around laughing at walls. We look insane (probably) tho none of the mirrors in the house can confirm this. But I salute us as we try hard for better times with patience and humor and inventiveness. To the powers that be, I’m sending supremely positive vibes to a little boy named Judge tonight that got hurt here in nashville in the storm. Wishing for him a full recovery and wearing the sweater I made a few years back which coincidentally bears his name. Sending all my love and strength to him and his family and to all of you out there who are struggling and pulling your hair out- the 2020 haircut- so fashionable, so “now”- Stay safe, stay home, and wear yr masks when you go out, por favor and gracias from the bottom of my heart. Love and respect. X

Shelly Colvin's son and husband were crushed by a tree in that freak storm yesterday, both in ICU. Awful.

COVID deaths by age in VA, population 8.5 million. A majority of the deaths are people in nursing homes. Perhaps we should be quarantining nursing homes and their workers instead of everyone.

 20-29 2
 30-39 4
 40-49 16
 50-59 41

No doubt, one phase at a time.
Nothing is going to change those people from being old and infirm and likely candidates for death by covid

also the virus knows know state borders...we are in the DMV
known coronavirus cases in the District, Maryland and Virginia was 51,070 on Monday for a total of 2,259 fatalities.

the initial lock down was to flatten the curve so everyone isn't at the ER at the same time

Va. governor extends widespread shutdown through May 14, says first phase of reopening could begin after that

also
Northam allowed doctors, dentists and veterinarians to resume elective procedures Friday, the first step in the greater capital region

So if you can convince your vet to give you a haircut...you should be in business

"This, with this Militia look and long guns...ahhh NO.  Show of force is dangerous, it puts our police at risk"
-anti-gun hero, Sean Hannity

Here is my take...Brad Parscale felt that this look is bad for Trump's reelection and I bet you this is going to be the party line from the right-wing media and they are going to try from within to quell the fires they started

Not sure it will work

Fat white people exercising their rights for boardwalk fries and dipping dots. At least space will have somewhere to go this summer.

Don't act so self-righteous. You'll be going places this summer, too. If club shows start back up, all of you will be at one in less than two weeks.

I ain’t going to any shows for the foreseeable future unless it’s Neil Young

Missing concerts is not the same thing as disregarding advice  from medical professionals

I am not so sure about that Dr. Spaceman. I am trying to figure out if/when I will even see my soon to be 80 year old mom in NY again. Am hoping that show-going is a thing again by December.

Also, here's a compilation of some Dr. Spaceman clips from 30 Rock.

Assuming our West Coast family vacation is postponed, I'm planning on driving to upstate NY in June/July to visit my 79 yo mom and brother.

You'll probably have to fly to a Red State to see a concert in December.
