It seems likely that with a imcreasedt testing they will catch more of the asymptomatics. So it will be tough for the number of daily cases to decrease if the are catching a higher percentage of the positives.

Why would asymptomatic people be tested?

I mean I can’t get a test

Who is getting tested without symptoms?

Really? Every PatientFirst type place here has drive up clinics. No doctors order needed.

There were 370K people tested yesterday and only 25k positives. So many asymptomatics were tested.

I got a message from my personal doctor a few weeks ago that they have tests. I assume I could have asked for one when I went in last week for an ear infection.

Do you guys not have those there? PatientFirst is an extremely ubiquitous chain of Urgent Care medical centers in Virginia/NC (you know, the kind of place where if you need stitches but don't want to go to the ER or you have the flu but no insurance/PCP and just want to pay cash for your one doctors appointment every 5 years).

It's kind of like calling whole foods by the proper name instead of "grocery store."

Got it

I don’t see a point to getting anything other than an antibody test

It's also why capitalizing proper nouns exists in English grammar.

If you work with the elderly or health compromised, you might want to get it on the regular. Cuomo has ordered nursing home workers tested every three days.

I seems like this is the scariest new development...

(New York) State officials are now investigating 110 cases of a potentially life-threatening pediatric inflammatory syndrome that appears to be related to the virus and has so far been linked to three deaths, Mr. Cuomo said. (Mayor Bill de Blasio said earlier in the day that city officials were investigating 100 cases of the syndrome.)
