I agree with you


My oldest sister who is immune system compromised spent thanksgiving with her in-laws

I know they took every precaution... still I was pretty shocked


But people really do need to hunker down

It’s the patriotic thing to do

Unfortunately people just can’t help thinking it won’t happen to them but when almost everyone thinks like that it does happen to too many

I miss seeing people too but maybe it’s just easier for me... my father in law dying and my mom being in Argentina took that issue off the table...no hard choices for me

My in-laws invited us to Indiana for Xmas, where to them "COVID is no big deal." The answer is a big fat no.

and let's be honest, it's Indiana in December.  sure there are some nice breweries and seeing family is nice (for about an hour), but frankly this might be the one situation where i'd be grateful for the pandemic.

Yeah, we usually break up the visit with a trip into Chicago and another trip to Three Floyds. This year would just be us camped out in a basement for days after a 13 hour drive, while Fox News thunderously blasts in the floor above us, punctuated by religion themed holiday specials. And it's too freaking cold to go for a run and there's no sidewalks available to do it on anyway. And it gets dark at 4pm. And the landscape is gray and bleak and totally flat.

You're right, John Prine (and Adam Schlesinger) are my musical favorites on that list, but Joe Diffie was pretty huge in the the mainstream country world in the 90's (five number one hits, 18 top 10 hits).
