^^ DING DING

I love the idea of restrictions and vaccine passports but they won’t be enforced. It puts the job of government agent on poor schlub working at a grocery store or restaurant for — Idk what service employees make — $63/hour?? That’s wack.

Just give people $1500 if they get vaxxed. Solved.

No way would my mom or sister in law be bought off for $1500. Not sure if they are typical cases.

Who didn’t see this coming  ::)

DeSantis is being accused of being a sellout and taking a bride for pushing the vaccine… And you know since it’s from the likes of Michael Flynn a. Flynn already been vaccinated and b. Got to keep that grift going

Calling it "the Trump vaccine" implies there's a disease called "Trump" and that this vaccine protects you from it.

So we basically got our kids vaccinated for no reason.

Its weird that you think "the reason" to get vaccinated is to avoid wearing a mask not to avoid getting COVID (or at least avoiding the most deleterious effects of COVID).

the only reason you got your kid vaccinated was so that she didn't have to wear a mask?  bring back the masks and it was all for naught?

how transactional...

I know you guys are waiting for the follow up on this, so here it goes.

I talked to my brother. He guilted his wife into getting her first shot two weeks ago. This in spite of her nephew almost dying from the vaccine and her blind (diabetes complications) mother having "hallucinations about getting killed by rats" due to the vaccination.

My mother is a different story. She said she's looking forward to our visit, but won't be getting the vaccine, and will have to pass on family hugs too....because "there's something very bad in the vaccine that gets into the skin of the vaccinated and they can pass it onto the unvaccinated via skin to skin contact." She also claims that she will never catch Covid "because I am naturally immune."  Furthermore, she says 45,000 people have been killed so far by the vaccine. And that she gets all of this "from the real news, not the fake news that you watch."

Well the vaccine brings the risk levels down to the extent that we don't need masks if we choose not to. Are kids basically going to be wearing masks to school forever? Because this shit isn't going away.

Agreed.

I imagine when all school age children can be vaccinated, that special "masks in schools" proviso will disappear.

In Fairfax County, the fully vaccinated rate for 12-15 is 68%. For 16-17, it's 80%. In PG County, it's 50% for 12+. I'm hoping our willingness to get our 12+ kids vaccinated will results in a different policy than PG County.

Of course, for kids under 12, it's 0%. Yes, elementary students should full mask until they have had the opportunity to get vaccinated.

My kid is 11 and probably won’t be vaccinated by time he starts middle school

I am trying to understand a person’s mentality that gets so bent about kids having to wear masks to school…..and failing. Particularly when the delta variant is beginning to hit us and there is some lack of clarity about potential breakthrough infections, reinfections etc

Speaking of vaccines, got Shingrix #2 yesterday. Restless night and woke up still and achy. Got a workout in. Current boy temp 100.4. Taking my kid to get her braces off today. Wonder if I'll fall asleep waiting for them to finish.
