My understanding is it's a take home swab test (but I think you can just do it right at the library), that you can drop back off at the library in a drop box where you got it and get the results in a few days...but likely a week

they only have 8k kits available on any given day, but you can check were the inventory is in real time
Kinda shocked that DC is leading the way on this, but kudos

That's super inefficient. I was assuming it was the BINAX style 15 minute quick-test like we use at work that doesn't require someone to have a clinical background to be able to read (pregnancy-test style).

Well that would be EVEN BETTER....but not all Americans work for a big-pocketed Health company (I have no idea where or what you do)

Had no idea you could buy these at CVS now
https://www.cvs.com/shop/abbott-binaxnow-covid-19-antigen-self-test-2-tests-for-serial-testing-prodid-550147
but $11 a pop is kinda  steep

But this is not a PCR test, right this is the 'antibody' test that I keep hearing isn't the gold standard on testing

Correct, its not gold standard but its good enough, and frankly good + you know and can act in 15 minutes vs great but it takes 24-72 hours for a lab to process is kind of a wash.

And I would have guessed Carrie Underwood was the savior we all needed.

twitter losing its mind over the fact that Carrie Underwood liked an anti-mask tweet.  worlds are collapsing out there.

She spent a fortune repairing her face after her fall back in 2017, so it makes sense.

What's that?  The "like" was about her kids, 6 and 2, not being forced wearing masks while in school?  Oh...ffs people

They've probably already been on the stage of the Grand Ol Opry and the Ryman.

got into this late, but this tweet got me upto to speed

Jeremy Hooper@goodasyou
It’s not just that Carrie Underwood liked an anti-mask tweet. It’s that Carrie Underwood liked an anti-mask tweet from Matt Walsh, one of those most negligently histrionic voices on the topic of protecting kids from COVID.

I can't stand Matt Walsh, so I question her choices in life

President Biden @POTUS
Today, our medical experts announced a plan for booster shots to every fully vaccinated adult in America.

This shot will boost your immune response — and it’ll increase your protection from COVID-19.

She married a Canadian professional hockey player over a decade ago and NOW you question her choices in life?

Crazy..the US back to 23% of worlds reported covid cases today

1000+ deaths (nothing like the 4000 at peak)

We -along with the world- are definitely riding a new wave now

As you probably know, UMD is requiring all students, faculty and staff to be fully vaccinated by the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester (Monday 8/30). Their update letter today says that we've attained a 92% rate, and it should be even higher when classes start in 11 days.

Fuck yeah!

Not exactly sure. They somehow automatically got my info, probably from allowing such info to be shared with such parties. I seem to vaguely remember such a question (about info sharing) when I made my vax appointment (when it was limited to certain occupations, e.g. education).
