Where Americans find meaning in life has changed over the past four years

Many things have changed in the United States in the past four years, from a new administration in Washington to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted work, financial security, family structures and even the ability to move around freely – to say nothing of its impact on public health.

Alongside these shifts, Americans have evolved in where they find meaning in their lives, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of surveys conducted in September 2017 and February 2021. In both years, the Center asked a representative sample of U.S. adults to answer the following question in their own words: “What about your life do you currently find meaningful, fulfilling or satisfying? What keeps you going and why?”

Aaron Rodgers has "Covid toe," which is a common side effect of "ivermectin brain."

ha, i was just coming to post about that

what drives me insane (insaner?) is that if you told the anti-vax mob that a vaccine has the potential side-effect of turning your pinkie purple and being painful as hell to the point of being unable to wear shoes, you can bet they would seize on that as a reason to not take the vaccine.  but the fact that it is a potential side-effect of not getting vaxxed is painful purple pinkie isn't going to convince them to get the shot... yeah, makes sense.

I felt a little sick the next day but nothing major…

I even went out that same night and had a few drinks at a bar…

the missus was mildly under the weather the day after her booster, like a mild flu/cold, but nothing near what she experienced after her second shot (she was useless for 24 hours after shot #2).  she did get a two-golf-ball-sized red welt size at the injection site, first time that's happened.  BiL & SiL were apparently wrecked the next day and spent it on the couch, both called in sick that day.  haven't gotten mine yet, will schedule for next week.

seems the pill is less effective that first advertised, but the big thing is you have to start early and isn't as effective if started later
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/24/health/covid-antiviral-pills-testing-khn-partner/index.html

and actual supply is way under demand...so lots of potential patients won't even be able to get these

Tamiflu doesn't really help the patient much but apparently helps reduce transmission. But you have to start it early in the illness, which means lots of people get little from it.

hope...

Jesse Rodriguez @JesseRodriguez
There were no COVID-related deaths yesterday in New York City, where the vaccination rate is over 90%.

... at least until omicron shows up.
