You know who I find the most frustrating to ref? The Argentinians. They will vehemently argue over the absolute slightest thing, llike a matter 6" when setting the wall or placing the ball for a free kick. And they
love to play the victim. I never find them to be dirty or take cheap shots off the ball, but I'm convinced they would rather be fouled and earn a penalty than to actually score a goal from open play. I can't tell you how many times I've played the advantage and they've scored while their team mates are screaming at me for a penalty. Then still complained I never awarded the penalty after the goal is scored.
The Brits are arrogant on the field and try to educate the refs on the laws of the game. Even if they have no idea what the hell they are talking about most of the time. I suppose because we invented the game they feel they are the foremost authority on it. WRONG! Some of the laws that have been recited to me during a game are just hilarious. For example, I called a foul on a Brit for pushing in the back. 'WHAT!! WHAT!! YOU'RE TAKING THE PISS MATE' this was the law of of the game he recited to me "I CAME AWAY FROM THE CHALLENGE WITH CLEAR AND OBVIOUS POSESSION OF THE BALL" (huh?) So I finished his 'law' for him..."AFTER CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY PUSHING HIM WITH BOTH ARMS IN THE CENTER OF HIS BACK TO GAIN POSESSION OF SAID BALL"
As for the Americans. I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that the part of the brain that processes the offside law is missing from the American brain. It must be a genetic anomaly.
