that's like calling me an aids whore because i'm gay.  or you a slickster, snake oil, used car salesman. [/b]

Crack, smack, weed, whatever...they're all drugs and so belong in the same category imo.

Since when has aids become a gay only disease?

And for the record...I don't sell used cars, but I do have some amazing snake oil fresh from the Florida everglades if you're interested.

I'm certainly not a proponent of and type of drug use, but that statement's a bit naiive. Would you include alcohol and caffeine in the same category?

On a tangential note, do all foods belong in the same food group category?

Agreed and I can see the difference.. I just thought it was kinda funny coming from someone who 9 out of 10 of their posts seems to be about the latter instead of the "honesty and sincerity" in the former.

I generally agree with your philosophy expressed in your second paragraph, but let me ask you...how does one know with 100% certainty that their actions are not harmful to themselves or others? One doesn't. Nothing's 100% certain, except birth, death, and the fact that the White Stripes suck.
True... so for someone to tell someone that they should or shouldn't do something where you don't know if it's harming anything/anyone ..is just as wrong in that logic, because how do you know.. if its... wrong...

...The white stripes, on the other hand, is quantifyable.    :o

Well you have me there. Yes, a bit ironic. I'm actually a fairly decent fellow offline, most of the time. But online, I have to keep up my reputation.   ;)

This has been an emotional day for all of us.  I think we should get naked.

 What?

Don't ask questions. Just give in to the power of the tea.

Naive maybe....but they're all illegal and that's why I lump them all together.

I have zero tolerance for druggies, always have always will.

I enjoy a glass of wine as much as the next person but I have zero tolerance for drunks either. It's not a disease, it's a weakness.

nothing anyone does affects only them.

so next time you hear someone say something about their actions only affecting (positively or negatively) themselves.

So, if tomorrow they suddenly legalized just one of those drugs, your opinion of it would change based solely on the legality of it within a governmental system?

leave him alone . . . he was in the military; he's used to being a slave to what the  government believes is correct.

I'm just trying to grasp any semblence of logic from that statement. Although he and I agree and disagree almost with equal frequency, I can usually at least manage to " get" his point of view. On this one, I'm currently at a loss.

Good one. Sir, yes sir!!!   (sorry for the military reference... I have a bad habit of lumping all people in the military of being a certain way)

My ancestors had zero tolerance for blacks and women voting, so I see where you're coming from.. makes sense.

Not true....when I served homosexuality was illegal in the military and punishable by prison time then dishonourable discharge. I thought (and still do) that was a ridiculous attitude for the military to take and disagreed with it 100%

If they legalized weed tomorrow I wouldn't really have a problem with it. If someone uses an illegal substance they should be punished, end of....your attitude is why this country's society is in the crapper "fuck the government I'll do what I want regardless"...alcohol isn't illegal but driving with too much in your bloodstream is. I happen to think the level is far too low but that doesn't mean I drive around over the legal limit. The legal limit is so low they may as well just put it at zero imo. Zero tolerance is probably the best way to go at this point.

That's great, just great....bring out the race card at every opportunity.

I hope you're ashamed of your ancestors.
