Last night, new neighbors had me and the Mrs over for dinner.  At least 5 or 6 times the hosts had to get up and go the other room to either turn the record over or find a new one to listen to.

Surely, we're better than this as a society, right?

New neighbor sounds like a rookie.  This issue was addressed decades ago:

Reminds me that multi-record sets used to be pressed with changers in mind. Ooh, all that pwecious vinyl goes **plop** **grind**....

For a serious dinner a cd is preferable sometimes....so as to not have to get up

Lp players that play a stack basically trash your vinyl

Some guests get a huge kick out of playing lps

Or a fancy streaming service...

Spinning records is fun when you're hanging with a few friends on the couch, not entertaining folks for the night.
