Religion was a highlight for me too, I though USLS 1 sounded incredible too. Big, heavy bass and I agree about how nice it was to have a lot of room but there was still a healthy turnout. I enjoyed the Buzzcocks show more (I know, apples and oranges) but PIL did a good job of making you feel like you weren't totally ripped off. Good show.

PIL was a fantastic show.  Nice turnout.  John was a lot of fun to watch in between gulps and gargles of cognac.  What was that twirling contraption Lu Edmonds was using to play guitar?  I want one.  The back to back to back of Religion-Public Image-Rise was the perfect way to end the night, with Religion being my favorite song of the night.  I was thrilled to finally get the chance to see PIL and I thought they delivered. Time to move back from 1979 to 2010.

MORE BASS.   8)

Religion was indeed a highlight. As were Public Image, Tie Me to the Length of That, Poptones and Warrior. I did find myself getting bored during a few songs, too, however. USLS1 dragged a bit as did Sun. Betao, they also played Psychopath and Warrior which you didn't list.

You're right.. they were played. I managed to get a setlist from the stage, and those 2 songs are on it, I forgot to include them. Oops.

Last night's Velvet show was a great way to spend a Thursday Night.  I missed the first band, but caught the rest.  The Vacant Lots played some boogie psych as a two piece with a way young looking drummer.  They had some long ass songs.  Screen Vinyl Image were next and were great as always.  I heard a couple tracks that I didnt recognize and loved them.  Finally Spectrum took the stage.  It wasnt as late as some predicted, but it was late enough that I had to leave before they were finished.  I was very impressed with what I did see, and now I need to go get some more Spectrum music for my collection.  I thought it was a great set up, with Sonic Boom on a shit Yamaha keyboard, pedals, and a guitar (which I didnt know the kind,  Looked a bit like a weird shaped Mustang with 4 single coil pick ups), a bass player, a twelve string player and a drummer.  Im glad I was able to go and the atmosphere at the place was nice as always.  A bit more packed than other shows I have been to there, but not by much.  Also, as a rock poster collector, I thought it was great that Sonic signed all of their beautiful screen printed posters.

Im still confused as to the whole MGMT collab.  It seems like even an odder pairing after seeing him live.

also played "che" (obviously a suicide song but on a S3 album) and did "revolution," which i think made everyone happy. maybe a couple others? was a surprisingly strong show.
