I'm feeling a little ambivalent about shows this week.

maybe the Body tomorrow

maybe the Toasters on Thursday

maybe We Were Promised Jetpacks on Friday

maybe The Executive Board on Saturday (a cappella)

maybe the xx and Grizzly Bear on Sunday

BTW-Review of Widespread Panic from a Deadhead/musician friend who attended the mountain jam in upstate NY last weekend- I've never cared much for them when hearing their material on XM radio jam station. I think Herring is a strong guitarist, but he seems more technical than emotional/expressive. Panic live wasn't great. The sound was just a big mush of wailing guitars and and sax and drums and keys into one big ball of loudness, it was always loud and wailing, little dynamics in songs and between them. I couldn't get the story of any of their original songs. They started playing one song and I started liking it a lot more - it was low spark of high heeled boys cover. That was nice, but not a good sign when only song you like is a cover. Panic is not for me I guess. Other people were tripping out and shuffling in the mud and going "fuckin panic is sick dude!"

Widespread Panic and Panic at the Disco should tour together.

That reminds me of when Twisted Sister opened for Iron Maiden.

some people like

some people dont

tripping out and shuffling in the mud . . . sounds like a nice title for a song

panic either connects inside you, or all you hear is the same ole thing.

I don't get it.  But shouldn't Iron Maiden be the ones opening for Twisted Sister?  I mean Twisted Sister is the one with the hits.

But Iron Maiden has the big stage show with the rotting corpses and fire and more fire and nerdy prog metal jams. I always found that they were one of the few bigger 80's metal bands that never went full on cheese. Even though they played nerdy prog metal jams. They walked up to that cheese line and never crossed it as far as I know.

She has been good with the updates.
Ignore the stupid side conversations I have been engaging her in for my amusement.
