I always thought she was an R&B singer.

Borlik, Davis, and Richards are all from Q and not U.
Jerry Busher was the second percussionist for Fugazi.  He was also in French Toast.

Sunday:  Weezer/Pixies/Sleigh Bells
Tuesday:  Courtney Barnett
Saturday:  Arctic Monkeys
Next Tuesday:  The Vaccines

I bought a Jiffy Lube Live VIP parking pass on StubHub, though I now realize I will not be able to enter the actual venue from there because I just have a regular general-admission-pit ticket, lol.  Maybe it will still be worth it for an expedited exit afterwards, particularly if there are heavy thunderstorms.

That Faust show is tempting but I will be at the club tonight for Deafheaven, Drab Majesty and Uniform.

Sleep Sunday!

Bongripper n' Caustic Casanova Monday!

Keep it heavy! \m/

Too late for Jul 22 show but FYI, you CAN enter the venue from the VIP lot with a regular ticket.  (I've done it even with Lawn.)  You just can't enter via the Club entrance.  There's a regular gate entrance, there.  Just one ticket-taker/one magnetometer.

I can also verify that is true
You need the VIP parking pass to get in the lot
but there is an entrance that was to get to the lawn area and then a VIP -club entrance shortly after that
So I think getting those VIP parking passes is worth it for shows there even if you don't have the VIP tix
It was nice to be able to order drinks and food from the VIP section, you even get a little 'pager' to call your 'servant'

Pixies were fantastic...but Kim was sorely missed by me
Gigantic->Wave of Mutilation->Debaser was worth price of admission for me (but again, Kim was really missed in Gigantic and end of WIMM)

Set list was heavy Dolittle/Surfer rosa.  And lets be honest...they probably could have played 4 less songs from Head Carier, but I guess it's good they are trying to promote the new stuff. I am glad they were a head liner and we go an 100 minute set and they were first...was a little worried that we'd only get 45 mins.

Personally would have preferred the Head On by JAMC vs Winterlong by Neil Young (snooze)
also, never knew that David Bowie covered Cactus (another fav from last night) frequently (150 times) in his live sets between 2002-2004

Didn't stay for Weezer
they did play buddy holly first as we were leaving and felt I got 'the full Weeze' that I needed
I think I made the right choice as I didn't need an ironic cover of "Africa" by toto either
but then again I'm a music snob :)

My only regret was not giving my VIP tix to some uber Weezer fan stuck out in the lawn section

I've seen recent pics on insta and it looks like with a full band.

I'm going with azaghal and we are both checking out Vagabon (the first opener)

Julien Baker = bathroom break.

is courtney barnett solo acoustic or will she have a band?
