I'm glad I'm on an out-of-town gig this weekend so I don't have do any choosing amongst the many entries this week.  And it's good I won't be spending money each night because, like others here, I'd be at a show each night.      This weekend might not be a record of number of good shows, nor is it Rocktober.   But....quite a fertile collection in next few days.

For me, a very occasional concert-attendee, my experience with sound at Anthem varies. Last night, the sound was not loud enough to drown out the chatterers during EATB. The sax and the weber-grille did not seem well-mic'd during the Femmes. The sound for David Byrne was great; Beck was fine, Hansard was great, Shins were too quiet by a lot. Foos I remember being very pleased with after a song or two.

But overall, the venues that I have left saying the sound sucked are the backroom at Cat, and RNRH, and most openers at most venues, and all venues at which Live Nation manages.

You need to make your points in Trumpian absolutes to qualify for a paid shill position.

there was an lot of chatty drunks by me during EATB....but at the same time, i could tell they loved the songs
not sure why this guy felt he had to scream at the girl next to him about his work issues for 2-3 songs

Sound level was good, I actually took my earplugs out as I felt I was missing waay to much during the EATB set

For me, a very occasional concert-attendee
this is Fake News for sure

I am torn between three different shows on Sunday:

Glassjaw & Quicksand at Ram's Head Live
Spirit Adrift at Metro Gallery
Arctic Monkeys at Anthem

Hmmm.

I ended up going to Spirit Adrift. It was only 10 bucks and they are an up and coming band I am quite interested in. This was their first area show and I don't think they have any plans to come back around.

Glassjaw and Quicksand seem to have been touring a lot as of late. Not together sure but they come around here plenty. Did any boardie here go to that one? I would love to hear a review.
