Yup it was pretty much a smoke-fest over where I was, near the left-side bar on the floor. No need to smoke my own cigs thats fer sure. SP were pretty good, but definitely not the future of rock'n'roll. I agree with the posting that a genuinely great rock band made an appearance just last Friday night (Gang of Four). But Gof4 had their moment (and squandered it in about 1985) and who knows if they'll come up with anything good and new. As for SP, yeah the album is good, and there are some catchy songs, but the songs do all sound alike for the most part, and the singer's voice, while distinctive, stays basically in one narrow range, which of course makes all the songs sound alike. Maybe in future years they'll come up with some music really worth latching on to, but for now, they are this year's Travis.
