Gun rights advocates are fucking nuts.  Sure, people will still kill without guns.  But it will be a lot harder, they will kill fewer people, and it will be easier to kill them before they kill.

There are two types of gun nuts -- the type who just love their guns so much they sleep with them; and the extreme libertarians who entertain fantasies about defending themselves against government storm troopers and cling to an ideology as ossified as Communism.  Both types are idiots.

Yup, and if David Koresh hadn't been able to arm himself and his apocalyptic child molestation cult to the teeth, Waco would've been a quiet surrender with nobody killed.

if the government hadn't given him a reason to arm themselves to the teeth, then yeah.

Or maybe if the ATF had just arrested Koresh on one of his many trips into town instead of attempting some macho display of power on his compound and shooting themselves with their own weapons...

If Koresh had been a Moslem then everyone would still be alive and the mosque still standing.  In fact, they would have had many new converts.

And there are dreamers that think that hand to hand combat, prayer, singing "Stop in the name of love" or a big hug will stop a perpetrator bent on getting what they want.

That's the problem: we don't have real gun control. Real gun control would mean you couldn't buy anything other than a plain fire-once-and-then-have-to-reload hunting rifle, with no scope on it. Anything else should only be sold to law enforcement. [/b]
HAHAHAHAHAHA
 OK.
Because law enforcement are ordained by god himself and can protect me at a moments notice.

I assume the reason you're referring to is the Government's view  that trying to set up a molestation-and-abuse-based independent state with a private army is unlawful?

Okay, but explain why people in the middle of nowhere PA or the manager of produce of Food Lion (Chantilly boy story earlier this year) need a machine gun?

Wis. lawmaker wants teachers to carry guns
He cites Israel, Thailand; school official says problems are not that bad

 â?¢ Should teachers be armed?

 Updated: 1:51 p.m. ET Oct 5, 2006
MADISON, Wis. - In the wake of school shootings in Wisconsin, Colorado and Pennsylvania during the last two weeks, a state legislator says he plans to introduce legislation that would allow teachers, principals, administrators and other school personnel to carry concealed weapons.

Rep. Frank Lasee, a Republican, said Wednesday that, while his idea may not be politically correct, it has worked effectively in other countries.
