In general I don’t see a lot of upward mobility due to covid

If anything a general downward push for all but the wealthy (with exceptions)

My brother in law just got laid off...

ol' Marilyn Manson has been keeping himself (and his lawyers!) busy:
- wanted for two counts of Class A misdemeanour simple assault in NH,
- being sued his former assistant for sexual harassment, abuse and battery,
- second lawsuit by Game of Thrones star Esmé Bianco, and
- FBI investigation into alleged abuse

To be fair, that NH case alleges he blew snot at a person taking a photo of him during a concert, which, whatever . . .

agreed on the snowflake-ness, but legally speaking it is assault.  plenty of people have found out the hard way that spitting on a cop is a really, really bad idea.

It was part of the character he plays on stage as part of an artistic performance of which the "victim" consented to be a part of by her entering the venue. I could get him off for this and I'm a pretend lawyer -- imagine what a real lawyer would do with this. Were people going around charging Gallagher for assault when he sprayed those folks with watermelon?

Yes, he was sued in the early 90's in CA for exactly this. I do not remember the outcome....

EDIT: It was dismissed.

Right, and that was a civil matter with an even lower threshold to clear.

My point is not that there are insufficient elements for a DA to charge Manson with this offense, my argument is the case is hilariously weak and a very low-quality attorney -- not to mention an attorney of the caliber a rock star can afford -- can no doubt successfully lead to an acquittal in the wild scenario that a jury actually hears it.

The only reason I remembered the case against Gallagher is because my family's firm turned it down, for obvious reasons.  She no doubt found someone to take the case and she ended having to pay for both attorneys.
