I currently have tickets for Hoodoo Gurus, Hives, Jens Lekman, QOTSA, Superdrag, and Dylan.  Other than Dylan (for which I've got 2), they are all singles.  Including service charges, that's ~$400 just for those 6 shows for which I have already purchased tickets.  I can think of at least ten other shows in September and October that I will attend.

 So, a conservative estimate is ~$200 a month. I would guess ~$2500/year

these days probably less than Rhett, but even when I was going to shows all the time tickets were normally under $15, $2 vodka nights before hand at pollys tended to add up though, how I dont miss the morning after those or the schlitz and a shot specials at Velvet Lounge

I'm loving this thread. I will print it out and show it to my wife any time she complains about me spending too much money on concerts.   :D

Probably between $2,000 to $3,000. More this year 'cause of Coachella and Lollapalooza   :)

 I'd say $5,000 this year.

since i usually buy for 2, easily 4 figures.

if we include broadway show tickets (where i buy for 4) ... I will opt for living in denial as well.

i think i spend prolly close to 3 digits at least. the festival brought it up this year, plus some high priced shows - crowded house, morrissey, the cure, etc

i try not to think of it - as im debating which shows to get tix to. lately some bands have been so nice to get me on the guest list - which im most grateful for.

on that note - i scored rentals tix for $3.50 tonight. since i could get 4 tix - i was generous and shared the wealth without even charging a person more than i paid.

You mean 4 digits don't you?  I think $100 is one month for you.

If I tallied mine, I'd include parking tickets to the 9:30. The fees+ kill me.

I spend at least a good 5000 in concerts every year, on tickets alone.

Travel is a completely different category, in which I probably spend about a good 10000 a year.

I mean, but I'm a different case than most people because I follow bands/tours, and I just know that shit adds up if you're not careful.

For instance, I'm planning on doing at least 25 dates of Tori Amos' upcoming tour (no judgement), and I already know I need to save about 2000 for it. I just did the three Daft Punk dates across the country, which although it didn't set me back as much as 25 shows in 2 months, it still set me back a couple hundred.

But you just roll with it, I mean, it pays off in the end for me, anyway.
Woof.

Speaking of denial, am I the only one who has noticed that the biggest spenders, and most obsessive, are boardies of color?

Anyway, my total annual expenditure is silly, but if we limit it to just admission and NOT associated expenses, it's not that bad less than 5K for sure.

But again, single guy, no kids, no debt, and no other nasty habits other than this.
