 What's your excuse for Kajagoogoo?
there are no excuses for Kajagoogoo. But no one took them seriously and I doubt you would find anyone who would admit to liking them. That is not the case with Van Halen, is it?

 Why do Van Halen rule(z)

Because they played Spicoli's birthday party after he saved Brooke Shields from drowning:

The silent majority think they sucked before he left.

 Let's not forget about:
 Whitesnake
 Motely Crue
 Twisted Sister
 Def Leppard
 Cinderalla
 Poison
and any other of those 80's hair bands.

Van Halen was hardly an '80s hair-metal band.

They were just completely-over-the-top larger-than-life hard rock.  Most of the people that don't like them just take themselves and their musical taste too seriously.

1. I would not judge Wilco by their two Mermaid Avenue records. Though there are a handful of good songs on each (most of them the ones with Jeff Tweedy on lead, not Billy Bragg), much of both are pretty mediocre. Any Wilco concert that featured the Mermaid Avenue material as its star attraction probably DID suck compared to when they were highlighting other albums.

 2. Though the 80's did have it's share of good ROCK bands, both British, and American, I would say the 50's were a much better decade for MUSIC. Rock and roll was at its vibrant origins. Country music was REAL...before it went all pop...and jazz was still a great thing...before it went all fusion-y and smoooooth.

more details on this please. The girl who had a nervous breakdown for filming Glitter seems to get around with the "bad boys" maybe she'd be better off with someone from pearl jam...

Wow, that's a completely over the top statement.  If you don't like Van Halen, you take yourself and your musical taste too seriously!????   Is there a scientific study to back this ridiculious comment up?

now now!!! I dont think Loverboy is fair!  Most Canadians dont even know they are Canadian.  What about Rush and (you mentioned The Guess Who), dont forget Neil Young, Tragically Hip, Men Without Hats, Anvil (haha), Platinum Blonde, BTO, and Paul Anka. Gordon Lightfoot, and Rufus Wainwright,

ok, i will stop.....and i think Our Lady Peace is damn good as well.

I saw a Mariah Carey video on Sunday with Dave Navarro playing guitar....they were doing the usual nookie scenes during the vid too. Almost got a nip-shot, but not quite. I can't imagine why he would do such a video unless there was dipping of the wick involved.

lets not forget "Cowboy Junkies"...and I don't care how good the band is, I refuse to like a band called "our lady peace" it's just a stupid name.
