i kinda want to go to the DAR show just to see how they handle the stage.  should be an interesting side show. [/b]

You guys give me more credit than I'm due.

I've got a new daughter at home, a crashed hard drive at home, and increasingly more work here at my job that's making it difficult keeping up even one 9:30 board persona.

I haven't "gotten into it" with Brian because he hasn't really said anything that offended me. And half the time he's actually right on for poking fun of some people who take themselves and their music tastes and interests way too seriously.

I've been thinking for a while that Brian Walalce is a troll and everyone is just feeding into him. This can't possibly be a real person. Like sonick said, it simply doesn't add up. For example:

Does that sound like something a MCR and Fall Out Boy fan would say? I doubt any of their fans even know who MC5 are...

 Please don't feed the troll.

 Thick-rimmed glasses.
Well-worn band t-shirt of a band you never listen to and couldn't pick out of a line-up.
 Ironic girlfriend.
 Vintage sneakers.
 Distressed Army jacket.
A willingness to discuss how Radiohead are the MC5 of the "aughts."
 Bad posture/unathletic ability.
 General sense of malaise.

 Am I missing anything?

Exactly!

Personally, I disagree with about 98% of what Brian says but respect his right to have his own opinion and I love reading his posts very much in the same way that I sometimes enjoy reading the NME. I often don't agree with them but love their very Northern English sense of humor. It's the comedy angle I love. Sometimes it's the wit itself and other times it's his absurd thinking that has me laughing. Bet Mankie knows what I mean. Then again, sometimes I'm just appreciating a good jab to a board that needs a nice sharp pin in it's bloated ego, collectively speaking.

Smackie, funny you mention Flawd as I too was thinking they both have a lot in common. I too miss Flawd.

It is amazing how much Brian seems to know about older music. Makes me wonder about some things like if he's just pissed off that he missed out on so much good music.    :p

I am SO excited that he's been playing "Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before"!  It is one of my favorites.

I'm still not convinced that Walrus isn't a Rhett alter-ego. Since he got married Rhett's really mellowed, but maybe the Rhett of old just needs to get out sometimes. I miss the old Rhett and how he used to piss most people off on a daily basis (remember the 'made my own t-shirt' thread? Still one of my faves). This board has really become a bored in recent months so at least Walrus adds a little spice, even if he is full of shit....again, not unlike the old Rhett!  ;)

 BTW, what's an "ironic girlfriend"?

We're giving away tickets to the show on our site.  Usually only 5 people even try to get the free tickets we always offer so your chances are pretty good:

I entered, but you have a ton of other entries, so I'm sure my odds are small.

Did you ever read/see "Fight Club?"

 Rhett:

 Me:

Except Rhett stays up all night caring for his newborn instead of making soap.

i'll be the skinny shaggy haired guy who will look like the easiest one to get past.
