Is he as good as Malkin or Ovechkin? Almost definitely not. But I do think he had nearly 70 points in his rookie season. He's legit.

congrats to boudreau, great job in a hurry. i just found out he was an extra in slapshot?  how cool is that?

alex is the far and away the  best (immature) talent in the league.

and big cheers to nicky lidstrom, the best (mature) talent in the NHL for winning a 6th norris. one of the best players ever at any position.

sucks to go 6 months with no hockey, but csn has been replaying 07-08 caps games, and the nhl network is good too.

not to diss one of the great goalies of our time, but i'd be unmotivated too if i had an ego as big as his and watched my team win the cup without me.

and  wings dent the cup - nice work!   :p
It may as well be their cup to dent at this point.

Too bad Jonathan Toews was out injured so much. He could have given Kane a real run for the Calder. Kane/Toews are right up there with Ovechkin/Bäckström as the best young Center/Wing combo.

Been a long time since the NHL had such crazy good young talent.

he won two cups on his own AND an olypmic gold medal. he's  43  and has an asteroid named after him. future hall of famer.  quirky and flaky? sure.  6 vezinas (while brodeuer and roy were in their prime) and two harts?   judge that

wasted most of his career for horrible buffalo teams.  the czech gold medal run in 98 was the best hockey i've ever seen in my life.

again, big ups to ovie and bruce! congrats!

Maybe she'll fly out to Detroit and polish it for the redwings.

That is so hot. Can she please start dating Jiri Hudler or something? She could totally be the new Kournikova.

Check out who Ovie brought to the NHL awards the other night. She was also with him the other night at Teatro Goldoni on K Street.
Igor Larionov's and former Junior World Figure Skating Champion Elena Botanova's daughter, Alyonka.

That would be an insane offspring.

Marian Hossa is headed to the Red Wings. Hossa, whose Penguins lost to Detroit in the Stanley Cup finals, signed a one-year, $7.4 million deal with the champs Wednesday.

** Sorry.  For obvious reasons I didn't check the "Happy Canada day" thread.

We discussed this in the Happy Canada Day thread. It's a holy crap signing. Bring back the ENTIRE team from a Stanley Cup Championship and steal the best two-way player from the Stanley Cup runner-up. The powerplay possibilities are outrageous.
