Hey Seth,

Craig David will be in the US on April 14th for a show in LA.  If he's just doing a few one offs for promotion, the club is dark on Sunday April 19th....

Thanks.

I think you've asked for Craig David more times than I've asked for SY and MBV combined.

Popularity wise, she'd be a better fit for a smaller venue, like Sixth and I.

Emiliana Torrini, please.

Well, last time she was in D.C. (AFAIK), she opened for Tricky.  (This was circa 2001.)

So she could conceivably be booked as a strong opener with someone else headlining.

The last time she played the area was at Iota in 2005. I don't think her popularity has grown by leaps and bounds since then.

I guess your statement holds true technically, but Arlington is close enough, right?

I don't think the club is generally responsible for picking opening acts unless they are someone local, am I wrong?

the club DOES have a new sound system - it's less than a year old.  if a show you went to sounded bad, blame the band and their road crew, not the club's PA.  it can pump out TONS of bass.

I was completely unaware of this.  :(

I guess I need to keep an eye on the schedules of venues other than just the 9:30 Club and the Black Cat...

Just read that Wolf Eyes and Black Dice will be playing some dates together in late may/early june. I realize the club may be a little big for a lineup like this but it'd more than likely draw a bigger crowd than some of the recent acts we've had (Bell X1, H&LA and Sebastien Tellier off the top of my head).
