so isn't it still like a 20 min walk to rfk after the metro stop?

the concert is at fedex...

looks like it's 2.5 to 3 miles from the metro to fedex, according to gmap-pedometer.com.  maybe there are shortcuts?  a shuttle?

sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anyone, I was comparing experiences about crowded metros. Yes, what sweetcell said: current U2 show that you are discussing is FedEx.

Yearrrs ago I think there were shuttles? Yet, no one waited for them.

Maybe a few of the 120 tractor-trailors that are being used for this tour could be re-tasked for the Fed-Ex show and serve as shuttles from the metro.

fifteen minutes = almost two beers you could be drinking before show, instead of walking.

it's amazing how a $30 ticket turns into a $52 ticket after the fees...

Amazing.

It pains me that even one cent of what I spend to see U2 will go into this man's pocket.

well you put it there

I'd say it is a 10 minute walk, but I walk fast.

And you have long legs.

Also true.

it's 2.1 miles from the top of fedex way to landover metro station in a straight line.  following the street = longer.  maybe you're talking about a different metro station?  or just really really bad with distances?

I think the closest metro station would be morgan boulevard, but I insist, is at least a 20 minutes walk when it's crowded....

AHA!  he must have been talking about this metro station, it is indeed much closer - about 1 mile away (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2711780), so estimates in the 10 to 20 minute range make sense.  i assumed that landover station was the closest, my bad.

thanks for clearing this up.  we now take you back to your regularly-scheduled bitchfest about how un-hipster U2 are.  over to you, joe.

For Redskins games they have shuttles, Im sure theyll treat it just as such although for some reason I doubt over 90,000 people are going to see U2 or just call me crazy. If U2 draws a bigger crowd than the Vfest I'll be mortified. I am interested in seeing Muse again though and if tickets are as cheap as they say Ill sit high up for the show.

prepare to be mortified and called crazy.  try pulling up a pair of tix on TM - only 400's left.  this show will most probably sell out.  add the thousands of people that will be down on the field and there might be more than 100,000 people inside fedex on september 29th.  i sure hope they have shuttles.

as much as it mortifies, confuses and frustrates some hipsters, there is a very strong argument to be made that U2 is the biggest band in the world right now (note i didn't say best).  that they can attract 90k+ people isn't that surprising.

and if you're looking for cheap upper tickets, i'd wait until 2 weeks before the show.  there are bound to be desperate scalpers who won't be able to unload their uppers.  you should be able to get them below cost, IMO.

Enjoy the spider stage you all paid for. I'm sure it'll be a spectacle. Do mention how great the music was, or the lack thereof  :P
