In setting my Sports Agenda for the weekend on the DVR, I realized this was the NBC game of the week.  One of you yappers should do something and get yourself on TV.

Jeff Halpern?  He just got traded from Dallas to Tampa Bay.  Scored a goal in his 1st game with the Lightning.

The zebras win the game for the Bruins today.

 Although this bonehead didn't help...

There's also  Stephen Werner from Chevy Chase, playing down on the farm with the Stingrays although it looks like he's out with an injury

I hope you enjoyed the game Slappy!

 Some thoughts:

*Pens vs. Caps is a hockey showcase. No trapping here: up & down the ice. Lots of rough stuff - just superb hockey.

 *Hi-def is made for hockey.

*Looked like a LOT of Pens fans there. TV crew said a split crowd.

*Huet was great in the third. Some amazing saves. A nice pickup.

 *Sid - 2 goals...Alex - ZERO

It was good and close.
 The Caps outplayed the Pens.
Rookie mistake lost it for us.

Actually, Sid had 1 goal, the second was just credited to him.
Sid-2 points (kinda) Ovie-2 points (no kinda about it)

Nowhere near 'split' 75% Caps fans 25% Pens fans
They were only loud at the beginning and the end of the game.

Fluery was impressive in goal facing 38 shots.

I did enjoy laughing at the retarded Pen's fans lack of understanding the Caps 'whoop, whoop'. They started doing it to Ovechkin with no realization that Caps fans have been doing it to former Caps players for 20 years, not as real diss.

On to the Calgary game and Iginla.

"The win also gave Crosby another notch in a one-sided head-to-head rivalry with Ovechkin. The Penguins are 10-1 against the Capitals when both are playing."

Pens fans...were only loud at the beginning and the end of the game and when you could clearly hear a Let's Go Pens chant on tv.

I made a few editorial corrections above...

Not really.
Since I never said Crosby and Malkin are inferior or their fans are nonexistent.
They are douchebag, bandwagon fans with way too much self-importance.
 But...
 - I don't have to live as one.
 - I don't live around them in that shit-hole that is Pittsburgh

So in the grand scheme of things, its not rough at all.

 Let's Go Caps!

Do you even get the irony of your constant "bandwagon" banter?

There's a reason why the Caps don't have any bandwagon fans...THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN GOOD ENOUGH. EVER.

Crosby left a copy of this for Alex in the locker room:

Nice embellishment, sure hate to ruin it with the facts. 4 shots on goal in the first period to the Caps 11 shots on goal doesn't sound like the Pens carried the play.

That's not irony.
Irony would be if the Caps DID have bandwagon fans or I wanted them.

Didn't they teach you about the proper use of literary devices in the shit-hole that is Pittsburgh? Nevermind.

I'd rather have a slow build of hardcore, knowledgeable fans.

A slow build that corresponds to the team's success I presume?

If so, then you picked an excellent adjective:

 Main Entry:   slow
 Part of Speech:   adjective
 Definition:   unhurried

Synonyms:   apathetic, creeping, dawdling,  imperceptible, lackadaisical, laggard, lagging, lazy, leisurely, lethargic, listless, loitering, phlegmatic, plodding, ponderous, slothful, slow-moving, sluggish, snaillike, stagnant, supine, tardy, torpid, tortoiselike

I shall now use it in a sentence for you:

The Caps phlegmatic play today struck a serious blow to their chances of making the NHL playoffs.
