My favorite quote is from "Amused to Death"

"Preacher or Poet who was it wrote, give any one species too much rope and they will fuck it up"

Things you learn in college...take "Amused to Death" and sync it to "Beyond the Mind's Eye" and it rolls right along with it perfectly.

The new Gilmour album sounds like classic Floyd to me.

really?  oh, i thought this was one of those select city gigs.  damn . . . now i'm going to have to go see it.  after all that bitching i just did, this show will probably be a once in time chance to see waters live. [/b]
the band sucks, the venue sucks, the music industry sucks...but i'll go anyway! [/b]
I rest my case

Would it shock you to hear that I like classic rock (more than indie rock) but hate Pink Floyd?

so your point is that pink floyd is the only (or one of the only) prog band to make their music accessible to the masses?

i'm beating a dead horse now, but i feel like you're missing my point ... which is only that i find it a bit odd that nearly every casual classic rock fan LOVES pink floyd, even though their sound is so different from traditional rock

don't get me wrong, i think it's cool that so many people listen to floyd, i've just always wondered how/why so many millions of people get into floyd when the rest of the stuff they listen to is traditional, riff-heavy, 4 min, verse/chorus/verse stuff [/b]

My wife summed up Pink Floyd quite well this morning by reflecting on Pink Floyd lyrics.

"Oh, my life is so hard. Life is so mysterious."

Now that's a limiting statement.
