Anyway I'm now totally in love with their guitarist.

Kurt Vile was in good form last night.  The sound lacked punch until halfway through the set, tho.  Can't explain, exactly, but the band sounded dull until after his first "acoustic break". Things improved noticeably at that point.

While I enjoy his albums his vocal style got kind of monotonous. The crowd was DC-style subdued.  Glad I caught him but I'm not sure I'd go see him again anytime soon.

Come to Grief was nasty. They sold out the Sidebar and it was a filthy, crusty show. I Absolutely loved it. Ilsa continues to get better every time I see them too.

Agreed. Expectations for Come to Grief were pretty high and they didn't disappoint. Ilsa was solid, as always. I was there primarily to see D.O.C. and they were the highlight for me.

first time seeing Prince Rama last night and I absolutely loved them.  Love the whole 'now age' aesthetic.

I did not go to see this, I knew it would be a clusterfuck nightmare and the prospect of seeing Wilco in the middle of the day just didn't motivate me enough to walk up the stairs.

speaking of pbs, I want to know what happened to the little eleven year old girl ("children express" reporter suki chong, I think her name is) who interviewed dan quayle, in the eighties, for what I think was some pbs show. she was ruthless for a kid and I am sure she had to go far in the field.  or she is a teacher ready to retire . . . what do I know.
