Line in on the shake shack side at around 8:15? was very quick.
Hutch was friendly at the door.
Torres was unlistenable.
The sound was loud but good around 20 people back from the stage at stage left.
Crowd seemed tall.
Great visuals and band.
No poster.

I enjoyed Beck on Thursday night.  He has his show as confidently and stylishly down pat as, say, Paul McCartney at this point.  As said previously, it was a similar show to Merriweather in 2014 (was the "Where It's At"/band-introductions-with-mini-covers/"Where It's At" encore exactly the same?), but I believe I enjoyed myself more at the Anthem.  Great, rambling version of "Debra" mixed with a "Raspberry Beret" cover.  "Loser" coming so early in the set was maybe the biggest surprise.

In the future, however near or distant, I would not be opposed to a nostalgic tour playing Sea Change in full in comparatively smaller venues.

Yeah... no doubt he's an incredible entertainer... I just never really understand artists/bands that have a rather massive catalog and they play the same tunes over and over.

Additionally, unfortunately this turned into a hutch vs. Jules thread, but The Anthem needs to do something about the sound asap.

I see where hutch mentioned Beck brought his own sound, then damn he needs to hire a new team.

Ending up grabbing tickets on Friday for that night. Quite enjoyed it but somewhat agree with the sound analysis. Was my 12th time at Anthem and it was definitely toward the bottom of the list for sound quality.

Waiting for Godot at the Lansburgh Theatre was excellent. The best performance and production I've ever seen of this play.

Cool. That's good to hear.  Godot's my favorite play.  I was very lucky (no pun intended) to catch Nathan Lane, John Goodman and Bill Irwin in it on Broadway in 2009.

BTW,  I thoroughly enjoyed the Beck performance Friday night. Highlight for me, musically was the "Guess I'm Doing Fine".  Beautiful.  Oh, and the light show was awesome!  Liked how they displayed graphics on the shorter panels on the stage as well as the backdrop....Hutch was a gracious staph member!


Also...I enjoyed the Robyn Hitchcock/Tristen show Saturday night at the Lincoln.  They did a great version Of "All the Young Dudes" together for an encore.  Didn't know Tristen before the concert.  Now,  I'm a fan.

David Byrne is an early contender for concert of the year.

The reduced capacity for a seated show at Anthem leads to the venue really humming efficiency-wise. My best experience there by far.
