Kinda thought we were getting some one night only with YLT and sunra

Turns out it was just a double bill

I'd imagine they'll play with them through out this set. Was hoping to see hutches top hat here

Can confirm.

Gorgeous

Kim Deal show was great.  Played the new solo album, a  few of her solo songs from that 7-inch series she released like 10 years back and 5 (I think) Breeders songs.  She's the coolest to ever do it.

Capital Turnaround sucks, man.  I hate the vibe but it was worth ponying up for the good seats...had a great spot right in front of Kim.

Good seeing bearman after like 15 years or something.

So great to see you too! That was a great show. And Capital Turnaround is indeed a weird venue. Not one I'd want to go back to any time soon.

Went up to NJ Saturday to see the Feelies. The show was over 3 hours long. Something like 42 songs. But it was one of the best I've ever seen them do. Nobody can do what the Feelies do. Stan's drumming is as good as it has ever been. Keith, the bass player on Crazy Rhythms, made an appearance in the encore for a couple songs. Bill told me the band is starting the process of winding things down. If you haven't seen the Feelies and have an opportunity to do so (hopefully later this year), don't miss out. They're my favorite live band of all time...I never, ever get sick of their shows. They sounded and performed so well the other night...the last 2 shows I've seen (this one and the Black Cat) are two of my very favorites they've ever done.

Love the Feelies, but everytime I see them, I feel the show is too long.  2 hours is plenty of Feelies.

Skegss - Black Cat.

opener Twen was pretty good.  Space would have loved the lead singer.

Luckily Skegss set didn't start until after MD Terp game finished.  Lots of phones tuned to the game.  It was like they were told not to go on until the game ended.

Skegss - 3rd time seeing them.  They always put on a fun show and the crowd is always into it.  They did it once again last night...only played about an hour, but that was fine for a Sunday night.  Highly recommend checking them out if you haven't.  They are a little louder/harder live than on their albums.

Due to my moral obligation of seeing Malk on every tour that stops in DC, I couldn't skip last night.... however,  that was a pretty damn snoozy/pedestrian set last night. However, I'd imagine the 20% sold doesn't amp up the band too much...

Always a pleasure to see some of the stllwarts of the forum.

I was underwhelmed as well and I think a large part of the attendees didn't even pay for tix too

There was a run of songs towards the end that I thought were really good
(I think Jacked Existence-North of the Border-Gripping the Riptide)

Yea... i mean, songs were fine in general... there's a couple I don' love but it was just boring as all hell.

YLT + Sun Ra blew the doors of these other old fogey indie rockers.

I wouldn't either... I'd imagine that will be a once and done tour.

re: YLT... what a show the other night. I do feel a bit jipped based on the last few times I've seen YLT where they put on marathon sets, but that was perfect.

I was hoping for a 1st set YLT >> Second set YLT/Sun Ra. It appeared there was a very hard stop time at The Howard. I hadn't been there since The Meters played there basically when it opened but I saw a sign upstairs that said hard stop 10:45 and they played a few mins past that.

Moonlight Benjamin was amazing. Such beautiful energy. They belong on a festival stage, not a 200 seat venue.
