I've never seen the TH, but have been lucky to see DB in the 90's, 00's, and now last night. Last night was undoubtedly the best and most likely cracks my top 10 if not top five shows ever.

I saw two David Byrne shows with the American Utopia band, one at MPP and the other on Broadway. I thought those were incredible shows.
Last night was even better. The new band seems to have a bit more dynamic "snap, crackle and pop," as it were.

Also helps that it was one of the best sound mixes I have heard at Anthem (with the exception of King Crimson).

That band and horn section behind Iggy was tight, the horns adding lots of punch

Think the horns were Leron Thomas on Trumpet who worked with Iggy on his Free album.  On trombone it was likely Corey King.  Those were the ones on the European dates

Goddamn, what a show.  78 years old, man...he sat maybe three times and i don't even think for a full song.  Not even a real break for an encore.

The Iggy show was pretty much what I had hoped it would be, but was afraid it wouldn't. Last show of the year for the band, and boy were we lucky to get it. It was a who's who of the DC music community too...3/4 of Fugazi, Mary Timony, Mark Cisneros, and even Henry Rollins showed up. It was a magnificent night, so much fun. Got to meet most of the band, all of them were so nice. Henry, Iggy's manager, is still with him which amazes me. An absolute blast.

Fantastic show, garbage sound mostly but that’s been my experience at Anthem for rock shows. Wish we got the full Nightclubbing song instead of a snippet.

memory is a bit fuzzy but the couple times I saw Iggy in the 87 and 88 and then 96 it seems like his bands weren't that great and quite frankly I remember more about how great Jane's Addiction were when they warmed up for him in 1988.  Will never forget them bringing out a plastic ice cooler putting a microphone under it and the whole band wailing away on it.

with that said outside of  the reunited Stooges and the band he had with him on the Post Pop Depression tour (sadly no DC show) that was likely one of his best backing bands.  The drummer was a joy to watch and I need to check out that new The Armed album people are talking about.  It seemed like they were on verge of getting a little funky at times which would have been a fun take on some of that 70s stuff. Just solid support all the way around
